This project was created for the small-town registry office owned by a relative of my girlfriend. He needed a professional, trustworthy digital presence where citizens could easily find information about essential public services.
After collecting references from other small-town registry offices and expanding my research to larger, more established institutions, I designed the website layout from scratch. I first created a low-fidelity sketch to validate the structure, then transformed it into a high-fidelity mockup. Once the design was approved, I built the website in Google Sites, adapting the layout and refining details to match the original concept as closely as possible.
All services—birth certificates, marriage documentation, property records, acknowledgments, and more—are grouped in a clean, easy-to-navigate structure.
Users can understand what documents they need, how long processes take, and how to request services without confusion.
A formal and trustworthy design that aligns with the registry office’s responsibilities and public image.
Clear access to phone numbers, office hours, email, and directions, reducing the need for in-person inquiries.
Optimized structure to help people quickly access services even on small screens.
Registry offices typically handle complex processes, legal documentation, and government-related procedures — topics that can overwhelm users if not presented clearly. The main challenge was to translate these formal and often bureaucratic services into a website that felt simple, approachable, and transparent, especially for residents who may not be familiar with legal terminology.
Additionally, the owner needed the site delivered quickly, and my schedule was tight due to work and college. This meant I had to find an approach that balanced quality, clarity, and speed, while ensuring the website maintained the credibility expected from an official institution.
Create a professional website that reflects the seriousness and trustworthiness of a public registry office.
Organize services in a way that helps users quickly find what they need without confusion.
Present legal and procedural information in simple, accessible language.
Build a design system that could later be refined or expanded if the office grows or adds new services.
Deliver a complete, functional version using Google Sites, based on the approved high-fidelity mockup.
I started the project by gathering references: first, the examples shared by the office owner, and then additional websites from other registry offices to identify common patterns, required sections, and effective ways to present complex information.
With these insights, I created a low-fidelity sketch to define the structure quickly. Once aligned with the owner’s expectations, I moved to a polished high-fidelity mockup designed to balance institutional aesthetics with usability.
Due to my limited time, I decided to build the first version using Google Sites. This allowed me to quickly recreate the approved design, maintain consistency with the mockup, and make iterative adjustments as the owner provided feedback. The final result is a website that feels clear, trustworthy, and easy to navigate, even for users not familiar with registry office procedures.
